The Retro Model is a pistol designed for those that want an "old school" pistol or don't like a high cut grip safety like most of the modern grip safeties are. It is also a good choice for people who want a MEUSOC "Old Version" replica but want some options that are not available on that pistol.
The Retro Model is built on a Caspian slide and frame with quality parts used throughout. The retro grip safety, which is similar to the discontinued Clark grip safety, is made by modifying another grip safety and reshaping it to a similar profile as the Clark. The rear sight is the MEUSOC sight, which is sturdy fixed sight machined from heat treated 4140 steel and has a .140 wide square notch. The wider notch gives you a little more light on both sides of the front sight for faster acquisition without a real sacrifice in accuracy. The Retro Model comes with Novak dovetail front sight that is black. Tritium and a 14k gold bead are available as option or you can install a different Novak front sight later. A serrated black stake-in front sight is an option for those wanting a true "old school" look.
A stainless steel match barrel is standard along with a Commander ring hammer and quality ignition parts. Also standard is a Colt "commercial" thumb safety but an extended safety and an ambi thumb safety are available as options. Like all of the pistols that I build, these are made to be reliable and accurate. The barrel bushing is fit finger tight so it can be removed without a wrench but I can fit it tighter if you wish. No MIM parts are used in this pistol. If there is something that you'd like to have done that is not listed here, please contact me.
